Terms of Service

Groundplane · Effective September 2, 2026

What Groundplane is

Groundplane is software. It records what you tell it about your technology, collects what a collector you install can observe on your own networks, and turns both into documentation, findings and reports. It is not a managed service. Nobody from Groundplane visits your site, manages your hardware, or answers a phone at 2am unless you have separately bought that from a provider who uses this platform.

What Groundplane is not

It is not a certified security assessment, a penetration test, a compliance audit, or an intrusion prevention system. It does not block, quarantine or remediate anything. Findings are advisory. Acting on them, or not, is your decision and your responsibility.

Your account

You are responsible for who you invite into your workspace and what they can see. Keep your credentials secret. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

Your data

The records you create and the data your collectors send remain yours. We store and process them to run the service for you. We do not sell them, and we do not use one customer's data to serve another.

Collectors

A collector runs inside your network with your permission. Install it only on networks you own or are authorised to monitor. It reports what it observes; it does not read, store or transmit passwords, keys, pre-shared keys or community strings.

Fees and billing

Plans are priced per environment. An environment is one managed technology scope: a site, an office, a plant. If you run more environments than your plan includes, we count them and bill the difference rather than cutting you off, because a collector that starts reporting should never be turned away for a commercial reason. Fees are payable in advance and are not refundable for a partial period.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running and will not promise a number we have not measured. There is no uptime guarantee at this stage, and you should not rely on Groundplane as your only means of noticing a problem.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service at any time. On request we will export your data and then archive your workspace. Archiving freezes records rather than deleting them, so history survives; ask us if you want it destroyed instead.

Changes

If we change these terms materially we will tell account owners by email before the change takes effect.
